My name is Anna Cowan and I am 22 years old and from Caldwell, Idaho. I have always held a strong interested in the beauty industry and an enduring wish that I could one day be one of the people in the glamour magazines, behind the fashion and ahead of the trends. However, like most people, I thought my dream was nothing more than that until I finally cast aside doubt and took the next step toward realizing it by enrolling in cosmetology school. I instantly started participating in and winning competitions which earned me recognition for my work. I soon came to find out that this dream was not only possible but that it is my true calling. For the 2011 Madison Hair Affair: The art of Hair, I envisioned and created a dazzling and sultry siren. To create my masterpiece, I took inspiration from Greek mythology; and of course the Little Mermaid. It has been one of my greatest achievements thus far, but surely only the beginning.
